Developer Price Family Properties has installed electric vehicle charging stations in some of their downtown parking lots and garages.

Two stations will be at 515 S. Boulder Ave. and 201 W. Fifth St. Each one is capable of charging two vehicles at a time.

“Price Family Properties has been investing in the future of Tulsa’s downtown district for years and this is another piece of the innovation and growth,” Jackie Price, president of PFP, said in a statement. “The electric vehicle market is growing so quickly, and we want to help foster that growth.”

The EV chargers were installed by Francis Solar LLC, a renewable energy company headquartered in Tulsa. More than 1,575 plug-in, electric vehicles (PEVs) are on the road in Oklahoma today, according to pluginamerica.org.

“We see electric vehicles parked on lots and in garages all across downtown, and we wanted to provide a convenient and fast way for EV owners to recharge while they are at work, in a meeting or grabbing a bite downtown,” Price said.
